Graduation Ceremony for Megan and Thomas

Crufts Partnership Certificate

Megan, an 18-month Cavapoo, has recently graduated as a fully trained Dogs for Autism assistance dog with her partner, Thomas.

Megan does an amazing job supporting Thomas at school, helping him to remain calm and focused on lessons, and bringing him back to his desk if he wanders off. Megan helps Thomas to regulate his emotions when feeling overwhelmed by applying deep pressure therapy. She is also being taught to recognise specific behavioural changes when Thomas is becoming emotionally dysregulated, and to alert both Thomas and an adult to this.

Lola, Autism Liaison Co-ordinator at Dogs for Autism, recently presented Thomas with a certificate from the team at DfA, to mark Megan’s graduation.

Well done Megan and Thomas!
