Generous Donation from Hampshire Accountancy Firm Styles & Associates

DfA would like to say a big thank you to everyone at Styles & Associates Accountancy and all their friends, families and supporters who attended their charity race Race Night in July.

Cheque presentation for Dogs for Autism at new charity training centre

Last week Styles & Associates Accountancy presented us with a very generous cheque of over £2000 raised from the charity fundraising night.

Laura, our Community Engagement and Fundraising Officer and Sue, the Operations Manager at DfA, received the cheque from Kate Corbin at Styles & Associates.

Kate has previously been a puppy parent for Dogs for Autism. Buzzy, one our trainee assistance dogs helped Laura and Sue receive the cheque!

Arthur, Laura’s Black Labrador and newest ‘Ambassadog’ for DfA, helped show Kate the new training centre at The Lavender Fields, Selborne. The training centre has recently undergone an expansive make-over thanks to the hard work from the Run the Ring volunteer team.

Every penny kindly raised from events such as the Styles & Associates Race Night help us continue our work providing autism assistance dogs, free of charge to autistic people of any age, anywhere in the UK.

Grand Opening of The Doghouse with Patron Chris Packham

Our new training centre

On Sunday 23rd July Dogs for Autism marked a momentous occasion with the opening of our new training centre, The Doghouse.

Chris Packham, patron of our charity, renowned naturalist and television presenter, officially unveiled the plaque to open the new Dogs for Autism training centre with CEO, Hilary Armour.

Special thanks to the Run the Ring team, all our charity ambassadors including our most recent ambassador, Dr Scott Miller Vet On The Hill, who helped us officially open ‘The Doghouse’ with invited partners, their assistance dogs and friends.

Thank you to VDub Radio

The day went with a swing thanks to some incredible tunes from the team at The Sunday Social Show from VDub Radio. Presenters John and Barrie from the Sunday Social Show broadcast LIVE from the event, getting everyone involved and their presence certainly elevated the whole day.

With the help of the incredible Run the Ring volunteers, The Doghouse has been transformed into the perfect place for all our trainee assistance dogs to learn and develop their skills.

The opening of the new training centre means that we can offer the best possible training for our assistance dogs in a modern, safe and high-spec environment.

To everyone who has given their time and specialist know-how, your hard work, dedication and creativity are an inspiration to all of us. Your work will enable our autistic partners realise their full potential and help change lives.

Dr Scott Miller becomes DfA charity Ambassador

Dr Scott Miller becomes DfA charity Ambassador

We’re so excited to announce that Dr Scott Miller, vet on This Morning and principal vet of the programme Vet On The Hill, has become an Ambassador for Dogs for Autism.
Having recently received his own autism diagnosis and as a parent of two autistic children, we are thrilled that he will now be an advocate for DfA whilst his own personal awareness of autism grows.
As a big believer in the strength and support that animals can provide, we are delighted that Dr Scott is now our charity ambassador and look forward to welcoming him to meet our amazing assistance dogs very soon.

Walk A Golden Mile for DfA

Walk A Golden Mile for DfA

Every year we ask our supporters to Walk a Golden Mile for Dogs for Autism! Let’s #WAG!

Take part in a mile walk anywhere in the UK during the weekend of 1st & 2nd July and help us continue our life-changing work for Autism.

This event is open to everyone, so bring your furry friends and let’s have a fantastic time while supporting a great cause. Your involvement can make a real impact on the lives of individuals with autism and their families.

Walk a Golden Mile is an opportunity for us to take part in a collective walk for Autism. First started in 20219, Walk a Golden Mile soon became a popular way for our supporters to take part in a walk for our charity.

By taking part in this annual walk, your small donation fee of £5 helps our charity cover some of the basic costs to raise and train an autism assistance dog, providing funding for the little everyday essentials that help keep our dogs happy and healthy.

This year we teamed up with our sponsors Oscar Pet Foods and our friends at the charity walking app trundl. As an extra bonus, trundl are giving one month’s free trial* of the app to everyone who sign’s up to Walk a Golden Mile. This means that you can help raise even more funds with your everyday walks.

Download trundl on your phone:

For iOS: https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/trundl/id1593879747

For Android:   https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.trundlapp.com

*trundl code emailed upon registration.

Sign up to join Walk a Golden Mile here by 26th June and we’ll send you a special DfA bandana for your dog. We also have branded giveaways for those who don’t have a dog!
