DfA earns Assistance Dog International Accreditation

DfA earns Assistance Dog International Accreditation

Receiving ADI accreditation means we have met their high standards of excellence in all aspects of our autism assistance dog training programme.

We’d like to thank everyone who has made this possible for us, including our trustees, staff and volunteers who have worked so tirelessly.

ADI is the leading authority in the Assistance Dogs industry. It establishes and promotes standards of excellence in all areas of assistance dog acquisition, training and partnership. Having previously been a candidate member of Assistance Dogs UK (ADUK), achieving ADI accreditation has now granted us full membership status in the UK organisation. All ADUK members are accredited by ADI and/or @igdfsocial The International Guide Dog Federation working to the highest training and welfare standards.

Earning ADI’s accreditation is an achievement of which we are immensely proud.

You can learn more about all the members of ADUK here.

All International members on the ADI website can be found here.

New Charity Ambassador

New Charity Ambassador

We are delighted to announce that following the filming for the BBC and short tour of our new training centre, Jean-Christophe agreed to become an ambassador for Dogs for Autism to promote our work further.

Jean-Christophe’s youngest son Valentino was diagnosed with Autism when he was 3 years old, following treatment for cancer.

Jean-Christophe met Dogs for Autism earlier this year when he filmed a special segment for the BBC’s Children in Need Celebrity Bargain Hunt episode. Jean-Christophe met Jan Kiley, COO of Dogs for Autism and Luna, a trained autism assistance dog who has been life-changing for her partner, Zana and her family.

Thank you Jean-Christophe Novelli 💙
